Here is a story about two men from different cultures in different parts of the United States who become brothers in the United States Army.   In September, it will be 30 years since two kids,  Scott Lopez and Michael Jones, walked into the replacement center in Fort Knox, Kentucky.  Who would have thought that through 100 days of basic training and three years as M1A1 tankers in the active Army, we would forge a friendship that would last for three decades?  Shakespeare said, “For he, today that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother.” Together we have shed plenty of blood, not all in the course of duty, but almost always side by side.  After the Army, we went back to California (Scott) and Missouri (me).  Scott would move through the ranks in the distribution channel with the likes of Ingram-Micro and Sourcing Solutions, where he would create and brand Netpatibles for them.  Michael went on to teach American History for 20 years and serve 24 more years in the Army Reserves, including three deployments.
